it’s sad how people who are so kind and lovely hate themselves

folks, I’m just gonna say it. I don’t think it rains for long enough periods of time. it rains hard, it sounds good, I’m comfortable inside, but within 5 minutes the jig is up. the dream is over. I think it should rain for longer periods of time than it presently does

Hi, tumblr.
It’s been a while. A long while. My theme is still Christmassy haha.
I’m totally debating returning to tumblr. I left because I realised that this site, which I once thought was a safe place, can be so so sooo toxic.
For the moment I think I’ll just pop in and out of here, dip my toe in, see if the water has changed.
I’m rather active on other social media, though. So if you care to follow me on there, my twitter is @/smolllauren and Instagram is @/l.morti
Hope you’re all doing well.
Love ya,
Lauren

tbh perfect attendance awards are a really ableist and unsafe concept.

it’s an ideal that is completely impossible for a lot of disabled and chronically ill kids. it also puts everyone at risk because of pressure to attend school even when a kid has a communicable illness

kids should not force themselves to go to school when they are very sick or unwell for any reason.

i get that the idea is to encourage kids to show up, but most schools already have harsh punishments in place for unexcused absences. i don’t see the need for this, and having awards that completely exclude disabled and chronically ill kids seems really shitty

When I was 14/15, my parents were sent an attendance warning and a threat from the school that I wouldn’t be able to stay at the school after exams finished because my attendance was “unsatisfactory”. Around 83% I believe. I had 3 surgeries that year and still passed all my exams ✌🏻

hi guys! for the past couple of months i’ve been preparing and getting so many things ready and sorted out. but now i can finally share with you guys that i will be opening up a webshop full with cute/nerdy little things carefully selected by me, including lots of animal items of course :) i’m very excited and also kinda scared as i’ve invested quite a bit in this in many ways. but yeah the shop will most probably go online within the next couple of days so stay tuned if you’re interested!
